A driver has been rescued after crashing her car at high speed into the roof of a house.
The bizarre crash took place in the city of Zachary, Louisiana state, USA, on Friday, 11th November.
The woman is reportedly thought to have suffered a medical emergency before the incident, according to Zachary Police Chief David McDavid.
She was taken to hospital after being rescued by emergency services.
A resident named as Brandon Lacoste told local media that the crash sounded like an explosion. He added: “I ran out of the door and saw a guy running from the park pointing towards the roof.”
Lacoste said that two children were inside the house at the time of the incident but they both escaped unharmed, with locals then calling their parents.
He said: “The kids are fine. They are just extremely scared.”
Lacoste added: “We’re a great neighbourhood. We usually come together when something happens. We’re good at making sure everybody is OK.”
Zachary Police Chief McDavid said that both the car and the home were seriously damaged. He said that firefighters had feared that the house might collapse during the rescue operation.
Lacoste said: “I’m not sure what happened, but the driver had to be going at a good speed.”
He added: “I’ve never seen anything like this.”
The driver has not been named. The police investigation into the incident is ongoing.
