Former Birmingham City star Christophe Dugarry has said Kylian Mbappe acted like a “spoiled rotten child” after he complained about being subbed off calling the incident “scandalous”.

World Cup winner Dugarry, 47, made the comments during his radio programme ‘Team Duga’ broadcast by French-Monegasque network Radio Monte Carlo (RMC) Sport.

He spoke about an incident in which French international Mbappe, 21, was noticeably upset with PSG boss Tomas Tuchel, 46, after he was subbed off in the 68th minute of their 5-0 victory over Montpellier HSC on Saturday.

Dugarry said: “Honestly, I crumbled when I saw the images. When I saw Mbappe do that, I told myself: ‘It is not possible that he is doing something like this’.

“He is a kid that always explains to the world how mature he is, that he is much more mature than the rest. Doing something like that is something a spoiled rotten child does.

Despite his heavy criticism, Dugarry admitted: “I love this player, he is a notable footballer and I hope to see him every chance I get.”

However, he went on to say: “It is simply scandalous what he did. Who does he think he is? It is disrespectful to Tuchel and especially to his teammates on the bench, Icardi, Cavani…

“I will never look at Mbappe the same again.”

Dugarry played for clubs such as AC Milan, Barcelona and Birmingham City. He was also part of the France national team between 1994 to 2002, winning the 1998 French World Cup for the first time in his country’s history.
