A Frenchman has been arrested for drugging his wife over the course of a decade so other men could rape her while she was unconscious and he filmed it.

The 68-year-old man, who has not been named, was busted when he was first reported for filming under women’s skirts in the local supermarket, and when the police went to his house in the town of Mazan in the French department of Vaucluse, they found footage of the rapes.

Public prosecutor Philippe Guemas confirmed that 42 people have been arrested on suspicion of rape. Their ages range from 24 to 71.

The suspect’s wife, unnamed but who is 61 years old, was unaware that she had been repeatedly raped until the beginning of the police procedure and she has since moved out and asked for a divorce.

Many of the suspects deny raping her, with some saying that they believed they were taking part in sex parties.

The couple are originally from the Paris region but they moved to Mazan in 2010, which is when the alleged rapes began.

They lasted until the suspect was allegedly caught filming under women’s skirts in a local supermarket on 12th September 2020.

A psychiatrist has described the suspect as a “voyeuristic sexual deviant”.

Police reportedly seized hundreds of videos and photographs at the suspect’s house.

According to media outlet France 3, the police found footage showing the suspect’s wife being raped while she was unconscious.

Investigators also reportedly found messages online in which the husband invited people to come and take advantage of his unconscious wife.

After giving her drugs to make unconscious, the husband would allegedly allow men to rape her while he filmed it.

The 68-year-old suspect faces 20 years in prison.
