When he reaches the top he drops the puppy onto the other side before climbing down after it.

He then grabs Apolo and walks away with the puppy in his hands. Local media reported that at the time of the robbery, the owner of the dog, named Andrea Aguirre, and her two-year-old daughter Olivia were inside the house but they only noticed the dog was not there moments later.

Aguirre said: “It makes you feel helpless seeing how they broke in, took it and abused it.”

She report the robbery to the police and an investigation was launched.

On Tuesday 22nd October the family said that they had been reunited with the puppy after a person, from Guernica, also in Argentina, who bought it and contacted them to give them back when the video was widely shared on social media. The family had also started an online campaign to find Apolo.

In the video, the daughter can be seen playing with the pooch after they were reunited.

Aguirre said that they are very happy after the recovery of the dog and confessed she thought they would be able to get it back, adding: “My daughter Olivia cannot stop shouting its name. It is already with us, at home. I have no words to show my appreciation”.

No arrests have been reported.
