Four-Year-Old Boy Shot At Home

A dad who told police his four-year-old son had been shot in a road rage attack is facing firearms charges after it emerged he was wounded at home.

Suspect Gendri Aguillon, 25, told police in Texas, USA, that his son had been hit by a bullet fired from another car on a freeway in Houston on 9th February.

But a witness told detectives from Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office that the boy was actually shot in a bedroom at the family home in Katy.

Police now believe the boy was wounded when a gun went off when it was being cleaned or mishandled.

The victim is reported to be in a stable condition and his life is not in danger.

Aguillon has been remanded in custody and faces charges of making a false police report and causing injury to a child.

Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement obtained by Newsflash: “Fort Bend County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Gendri Aguillon, 25, for injuring a child and making a false police report.

“On February 9, 2023, Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Texas Children’s Hospital for a report of a road rage incident involving a child reportedly injured by a gunshot.

“Deputies spoke with Houston Police Officers present at the hospital and after further investigation, FBCSO detectives determined that the four-year-old child was injured at a residence located at the 25000 block of Tancy Ranch Ct. in Katy, Texas.

“Possible mishandling of a firearm contributed to the child’s injury.

“Aguillon was placed into custody and booked into the Fort Bend County Jail and is charged with Injury to a Child. No bond has been set. Magistration is pending. He is also charged with Making a False Report with a bond set at $750.

“The child is in stable condition. This incident remains under investigation.”

Sheriff Eric Fagan said: “No child should ever be harmed in any way.

“Our detectives are thoroughly investigating the incident and we remind everyone that making a false police report is illegal. Those responsible will be held accountable.”
