This video shows the heavyweight daughter of a Romanian footie star nursery owner slamming a tiny two-year-old boy on the floor before sending him home with a broken leg.

Romina Rotariu, the 36-year-old daughter of former Steaua Bucuresti and Romania footballer Iosif Rotariu, has been sentenced to four years in prison following the incident seen in the widely-circulated footage.

Reports said that the defendant has to pay the boy’s family 100,000 EUR (86,295 GBP) in damages.

Rotariu has also been banned from teaching for the next five years, according to local media.

The ruling can be appealed at a higher court although it is currently unclear whether the family plan to do so.

The incident took place in June last year when the toddler’s parents complained to the police that their son had appeared to have been beaten and came home with a broken leg.

The tot was hospitalised for three weeks following the incident and his parents claimed that he also suffers from shock.

Reports said that the private nursery is owned by the defendant’s father, footballer Iosif Rotariu.

In his daughter’s defence, he said that the defendant suffers with diabetes and was experiencing a hyperglycaemia crisis at the time of the incident and does not remember anything that happened.
