Football Wonderkid Fighting For Life After Being Shot By Stray Bullet At Train Station

A promising young footballer has been left fighting for his life after he was hit by a stray bullet while waiting on the platform at a local station.

The bullet was fired by a clash between a nearby gang and he had to be rushed to hospital for emergency heart surgery which left him fighting for his life.

Jose Neiber Angulo, a young 16-year-old soccer player, was wounded by a stray bullet in the Potrero Grande neighborhood, in eastern Cali, in the Valle Del Cauca Department, located in Southwestern Colombia last week on 9th November.

When the tragedy occurred, his desolated mum Ana Yulia Alomia said “my boy was on the train platform, coming home when he was hit by the bullet”.

She added: “I can’t describe how terrible it is for me, how much the pain is”.

The young 16-year-old soccer player was a member of the Sports Club Julian Vasquez, founded by the ex player of America De Cali of the same name.

Alvaro Luna, head of hospitalization at the Hospital Universitario del Valle, said the prognosis was now much better.
