This is the moment a flying minibus ploughs into a mother and daughter walking down a pavement.

The accident happened in the Edremit district of Balikesir province, in north-western Turkey. 

In the footage, the minibus is seen flying over the pavement where it hits the mother and the daughter while another passerby miraculously escapes the minibus. 

We then see a huge dust cloud left in its wake as the vehicle continues careering down the road before ploughing through a sign post and a concrete kerb before it finally grounds to a halt.

The mother Naime Kildir, 46, and her daughter Seda Kildir, 20, were walking on a pavement by the Edremit Canakkale highway. 

The minibus driven by Ibrahim Bozkurt, 63, lost control and careered towards the pavement. 

The minibus reportedly hit both the mother and the daughter killing them on the scene. 

The locals who saw the accident called ambulance crews and the police who found that the mother and the daughter had lost their lives.

Meanwhile the driver Ibrahim Bozkurt, is in a critical condition while two minibus passengers Nazik Bozkurt and Erin Baykal are in a stable condition in hospital.

The police investigation about the case is ongoing.
