This is the moment a large chunk of metal flies through the air before hitting the windscreen of a car on the other side of the motorway.

The incident was filmed by the motorist’s dash cam on the M1 Highway in the western Russian capital Moscow and the footage was later widely circulated on social media.

According to local media, the unnamed Kia driver was on his way to the city centre when the flying missile smashed his windscreen.

Reports said the metal object was a leaf spring commonly used on suspensions that flew off a lorry travelling on the other side of the motorway. It was then most likely lying on the road then it was flipped up into the air by passing traffic that sent it into the car.

Fortunately, the motorist was stationary when the incident took place and no one was injured in the incident.

The unnamed driver said the leaf spring embedded itself in the windscreen just a few centimetres from his hand which shocked him and a passenger in the vehicle at the time.

Netizen ‘Sergei Sergeev’ said: “This is so horrible.”

‘Acdc’ commented: “Seems this guy is now on his second life!”

It is unclear if the police are investigating, if the lorry has been identified and if the motorist will be compensated.
