This is the moment a ‘Flintstones’-style cabbie sticks his foot out the driver’s side door and tries to stop his car after his brakes appear to fail.

The man’s out-of-control and apparently unstoppable marked taxi can be seen rolling through a busy junction in the city of Harbin, capital of Heilongjiang Province in north-eastern China, on 13th November.

In the video, the unidentified taxi driver has opened his driver’s side door and is still clinging to the steering wheel in a bid to steady is car.

He plants his left foot on the road and appears to try and stop his car using nothing but his shoe.

This is after his car malfunctions and apparently suffers brake failure, but the cabbie somehow neglects his handbrake and opts for the more dangerous ‘foot brake’ instead.

The video ends with the cabbie’s car rolling slowly to the other side of the junction.

The incident is not believed to have caused any injuries or damaged any other vehicles.

However, members of the public have questioned why the cabbie did not use his handbrake.

‘Wode Sumiao Zuopin Fenxiang’ said: “Isn’t he afraid of snapping his leg?”

‘Xusimi’ wrote: “He wants a new pair of shoes.”

‘AspirinMXY’ added, sarcastically: “If his footbrake doesn’t work, do you really think his handbrake would? It would rip the skin off his hand.”
