This is the moment a Rottweiler attacks a fleeing woman in the street in front of a Turkish school and causes serious injuries to her arm.

The incident was filmed in the city of Gaziantep in the southern Turkish province of the same name on 1st March.

According to the news site Yenicag, the dog was being kept in the garden of a local doctor’s home when it escaped and wandered the streets.

Mother of two Tugba Saglik was walking along the street with a school teacher when the aggressive dog ran towards them.

In the footage, the two women are seen running along the street as the big black dog gives chase.

The teacher makes it to the school entrance while Saglik runs onto the pavement where she trips and falls over.

The Rottweiler starts attacking the woman, apparently biting her arm, as several bystanders hit the dog and manage to pull it away.

Saglik is then seen seeking shelter inside the school.

She was treated in hospital for injuries to her arm and leg after the attack.

Her husband Sefa said: “When my wife came to the school, she was attacked by a dog. The dog was biting my wife and she survived thanks to other people in the area.

“If those people were not there, the dog would have ripped my wife to shreds.

“She couldn’t sleep at all night. She had stitches on her arm and a foot injury. There were other injuries in other places from the struggle.”

The husband claimed the dog belongs to the local doctor Oguz Cebesoy and that it escaped from his villa, adding that he refused to apologise for the incident.

The victim also expressed her shock that it took place outside the school where their children attend.

It is unclear if the couple has reported the incident to the police and whether they are investigating the matter.
