FLEE-BAGGED: Burly Suspect Legs It From Cops As They Bundle Him Into Police Car

This is the moment when a handcuffed suspect legs it from three cops just as he is about to be bundled into a police car.

A CCTV camera caught the drama as it unfolded on a street in Orizaba, Veracruz State, eastern Mexico.

Footage shows how the three officers lead the tall, heavily-built suspect to the side of a police pickup truck.

But a second after they open the back door for him to get in, the handcuffed suspect legs it down the street, prompting the hapless officers to run after him in vain.

Local media reported that as of 23rd November, the suspect remained at large. His identity is not clear, nor is the criminal offence he is accused of.

According to preliminary reports, the three policemen were detained over the bungle and may be punished by authorities over the suspect’s escape.

The clip has been doing the rounds on social media, where one netizen alleged that the event had taken place outside the Forensic Medical Service on 21st November.

Another netizen excoriated police for cuffing the man’s hands in front of him instead of behind his back.

A study by Universidad de las Americas Puebla showed that Veracruz was the Mexican federal entity with the third-highest rate of impunity in 2021.
