A woman has been nicknamed The Flash after she moved from strolling across the courtyard to leaping into action when a child – believed to be her niece almost face-planted onto the concrete when her baby stroller toppled over.

The footage was captured by CCTV in Changsha, which is the capital and the largest city of Hunan Province in China.

In one of the videos the toddler can be seen walking around in the baby stroller and not paying attention to where she is going as she looks at a toy on the wheel rattling on the ground.

Another video shows the older woman standing by the road and walking back towards the house at a leisurely pace, when she suddenly sees the toddler heading towards the edge and leaps into action.

After taking a few running steps, she throws herself forward with arms outstretched and just manages to catch the toddler before she hits the concrete.

The baby was unharmed, and the woman was left lying on the floor.

The video ends with the rest of the family coming over to check on the baby as the old woman continues to lie on the floor.
