This is the moment a trick of the light seems to turn a pet poodle into a real-life hot dog.

The pup – sitting on a sofa at its home in Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, China – was being filmed by its proud owner Ms Li through a window on 24th January.

But she viewed the footage she realised she had also picked up the reflection of a bonfire in the garden.

The bizarre optical illusion shows the pup looking as cool as a cucumber while it seems to be engulfed in flames.

Ms Li said that her mother was stunned by the sight and for a second she thought the dog was really on fire when she saw it.

Afterwards, Ms Li shared the video on Douyin – the Chinese version of TikTok – confusing netizens as well.

User ‘0z’ said: “I had to read the caption several times before I could understand what was going on.”

And user ‘Wen and Dodo’ said: “I thought your dog went crazy after practising Kung Fu.”
