This is the moment a fisherman finds the lower half of a man’s chewed up body floating in the water after the unfortunate soul was allegedly attacked by a crocodile.

The shocking scene was recorded by a fisherman in the area of Sungai Suai, in the district of Miri, Eastern Malaysia’s Sarawak State as he was fishing with his younger brother.

In the video, the fisherman’s boat speeds along the water when it comes across the lower body of a man floating in the water with splashing around it.

Reports state the fisherman, who has not been named in reports, had found a crocodile dragging the remains through the water.

Local police chief Lim Meng Seah told reporters the witness then called other fishermen to try to locate the crocodile and when they returned found the remains floating in the water with the crocodile having left the scene.

The police went to the scene and recovered the victim’s body but Seah said he could not be identified because there was no identification in his trousers.

Seah said a local family who had reported a male relative as missing were called to the Miri Hospital, where the remains were sent for post-mortem examinations, but they could not confirm that the trousers had belonged to their relative.

Reports state the victim had bite marks from the crocodile on his legs and abdomen but there were no signs the man had been the victim of a crime.

It is unclear if the man’s upper body has been located and the crocodile has not been located.
