Fishermen Rescued From Floating Fridge After Boat Sinks

This is the moment two shipwrecked fisherman are rescued from a floating fridge after their boat sank in the Gulf of Mexico.

The incident occurred after a shipping vessel named Adriana set off from the San Pedro area of the southern Mexican state of Tabasco.

The authorities received a call from the manager of the Jesusita cooperative saying the Adriana had set off on Thursday but a day later it was spotted half-sunk and its crew could not be seen.

Rescue protocol was activated and the ship Defender was sent along with a helicopter to search for the crew.

Two fishermen were found inside a floating fridge and int he video a rescuer can be seen jumping into the sea and swimming towards the fisherman.

The fridge is then pulled to the Defender and the men are lifted to safety.

Local media report the two men were taken to a port where an ambulance was waiting for them to be taken to the Navy hospital for treatment.

There are no updates on their condition and it is unclear why their boat sank. It is unclear how many crew members were on the sunk ship.
