Fisherman Casts Line And Catches Paragliders Coming In To Land On Beach

This is the moment a fisherman casts a line and snarls two paragliders coming in to land, almost forcing them into a set of jagged rocks on the coast.

The incident was filmed in the district of Konyaalti in the Turkish province of Antalya on an unspecified recent date.

Paraglider Sadik Goller, age not reported, and a female companion set off from the Konyaalti observation point and were coming in to land on a beach when a fisherman cast his line from the coast and entangled the pair.

Goller said they lost control for a moment and had to break the fishing line to have a chance of landing on the beach safely.

Luckily, the line broke and the pair managed to land on the beach without further incident.

Goller said after the lucky escape: “After taking off, I realised the wind was not as strong as I would have liked.

“I tried to get lift at the level of the cliffs, but as it did not work, I decided to carry out my emergency landing plan.

“While descending, I saw my fishermen pals casting their lines into the sea.

“Worse things could have happened, it could have torn the material or caught in the ropes.

“I kept calm and arrived where I was planning to land.

“We were tangled, but my passenger managed to unhook us. I guess the fishing line broke because of our speed.

“It could have been a serious accident… It is the first time I’ve experienced something like this with a fishing line.”
