This is the moment fireman hugs a migrant after rescuing him from the undercarriage of a bus after he hid under the vehicle but became “squashed” when it set off.

The incident took place in the capital city of Sarajevo in central-eastern Bosnia and Herzegovina, when the young man, whose identity and origin have not been disclosed, sneaked under the bus with French licence plates.

The fire service were called and in the video they can be seen working to free the migrant. He is eventually pulled from between two wheels and one of the firemen then gives him a hug.

The friendly fireman asks him in English “are you alone? Anyone else” and when the migrant shakes his head he is taken to an ambulance stretcher.

Local media report he did not suffer serious injuries and thanked the firemen for their help.

It is unclear where the bus was heading from Sarajevo.

Netizen ‘Chad Wixxer’ commented: “It would’ve been better not to rescue him.”

While ‘Nenad Ilekovic’ added: “Poor man.”

And ‘SaburlijaFederacija’ wrote: “He should try a plane now.”
