This is the moment a fire engine on an emergency call crashed into a Mercedes whose driver failed to give way.

The accident happened in the city of Pinghu in East China’s Zhejiang Province as the owner of the Mercedes-Benz GLK 300 tried to make it through a crossroads with one second on the green light remaining.

The driver, surnamed Zhang, who appears to be female as one of the CCTV angles appears to show, can be seen speeding through the junction as all other vehicles are stopped.

The lights turn amber and then red as the SUV reaches the middle of the crossroads – at the same moment as the fire engine comes into view, followed closely by a second one.

The emergency service vehicle, which has its lights on and siren blaring, slams into the side of the Mercedes-Benz, which spins 180 degrees and crashes into a stopped taxi, which also hits the vehicle behind it.

Both fire engines are then forced to stop to check on the Mercedes-Benz driver, who eventually opens her door and steps out.

Authorities say no one was injured during the incident, but the crash caused significant damage to the taxi belonging to the cabbie surnamed Qian, as well as the second car behind his belonging to Pan.

Investigators say Mercedes-Benz owner Zhang will be 100 percent of the liability for the crash for failing to yield for on-duty emergency service vehicles.
