A woman who trains kids in kickboxing at a Russian youth centre has been fired from her job because of these kinky BDSM-style snaps she appeared in for an art project 20 years ago.

Ekaterina Konopenko, 41, was employed until recently as a trainer at the Municipal Children and Youth Centre “Maximum” in the Russian city of Magnitogorsk, which is an industrial city in the Chelyabinsk Oblast region located on the eastern side of the the Ural Mountains by the Ural River.

But when one of her colleagues reportedly spotted the pictures by accident and took them to her bosses at the youth centre, she ended up losing her job.

She said: “The director organised a meeting and on the screen in front of all the employees showed my photos, trying to publicly shame me. In addition, I know that the youth centre’s administration repeatedly showed my photos to teachers together with lewd comments.”

The pictures were taken when she was 21 as part of the local art project “Experiment” in which Ekaterina took part in the year 2000 as a model. It resulted in the publication of three books of work by local poets and photographers.

She said: “It wasn’t anything seedy or about Internet porn. The whole city arts scene knew about this project. At the time, no one had a problem with it. Everyone understood that this was just about being creative. But now they have turned this into some sort of porn experiment and are trying to make it into something that it wasn’t. I can’t even find these pictures on the Internet now.”

She said that after the youth centre had put the matter in the public domain by raising it, the pictures not surprisingly had been tracked down the Internet, and were shared on social networks, which was then a basis for a formal police complaint.

This was later upheld, according to the senior assistant prosecutor of the Chelyabinsk region, Natalya Mamaeva, who said: “This indicates a violation of moral and ethical standards that entail a violation of the rights of minor students.”

Prosecutors then contacted the youth centre and ordered them to commence disciplinary proceedings which resulted in her being fired. They made it clear that: “According to the Labor Code, if an employee commits an immoral act incompatible with the performance of his or her work, the employment contract may be terminated.”

Ekaterina, who is the mother of a 17-year-old daughter, said however that nobody explained to her exactly what it was that she had done wrong or what the immoral act was, and says her dismissal was illegal.

She said that she plans to fight her dismissal, and added the only thing that keeps her going is the support of the parents of her students.
