This is the viral moment a FedEx driver in the USA gives a young girl a surprise delivery of cupcakes for her birthday because “he felt bad that she would not have a birthday like everyone else”.

The incident took place in the city of Fishers in the US state of Indiana after Liz Paternoster had to change the plans of her daughter Emma’s sixth birthday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The family decided to stage a bash indoors and Liz said: “We were trying to do everything we could to make this as special as possible.”

When FedEx driver Jordan Price delivered a stack of presents for the birthday girl earlier in the day, he returned later with a tray of cupcakes from the chain Dairy Queen, according to reports.

Liz said: “He felt bad that she would not have a birthday like everyone else.

“You know, if we were not in this situation, she’d be at school with friends and he just did what he could to make it a little more special.”

According to local media, the family did not know the driver’s name as he left quickly and they wanted to thank him for his kind gesture.

Liz said: “I even stopped other FedEx delivery guys I saw in the neighbourhood later that day, trying to figure out who he was.”

She then posted a video of the incident on Twitter, which is going viral with 720,000 views, which was widely circulated before reaching the kind driver’s son.

The Paternosters reached out to Jordan and he stopped by their home again several days later where they displayed signs saying ‘thank you’ and calling him their ‘hero’.

Liz told local media: “He really truly is a hero. They are so busy right now, and to still think of others, those they don’t even know, is inspiring.”
