A convicted paedophile is in the dock after it was revealed he abused underage bullying victims after posing as the leader of a secret society that would protect them.
The now 32-year-old man met the girls over the internet, targeting young vulnerable girls and promising to make their lives better.
Prosecutors in Singapore say he brought his latest victims under his control by claiming to have clairvoyant abilities and to be part of a secret society which they could join to protect them from being bullied at school.
Simon Wong Choy Chuan, 32, had already been jailed for 6 and a half years in 2013 after pretending to be possessed to make five minors perform sex acts on him.
The man started to groom his latest victims just two months after completing his previous jail term
Back in court once again, he has now pleaded guilty again to sexually assaulting four minors between the ages of 13 and 15.
Twenty-four other charges of sex-related offences will be taken into consideration when his trial concludes on March 20.
Among the evidence is a victim impact statement which revealed that three of the girls were of low intelligence, while a fourth who had unwittingly made the introductions to her friends was suffering from suicidal thoughts based on guilt over what happened.
The first victim was a girl he met on Facebook in August 2017 when she was 15, and he claimed to be 21 in order to start a romantic relationship with her. He had then used her to gain access to three of her friends, two of whom were aged 14 and one of whom was aged 13.
He had even charged the girls money in order to be a member of his ‘secret society’ and provide the protection they needed from being bullied and kept a sick schedule with the times the girls would visit so he could abuse them
He was caught when the 13-year-old girl made a police report on 14th February 2018. She feared for her safety as he kept calling her mobile phone to ask her to attend his meetings with the other girls.
Police said this was Wong’s third conviction for underage sex offences. In 2007, when he was 19 years old, he was sentenced to one year of probation for having sex with his 15-year-old girlfriend.
In 2013, he was jailed for six and a half years and given six strokes of the cane for lying to five girls that he was possessed by multiple spirits, then threatening them in order to force them to perform multiple sex acts on him.
Police say he faces this time up to 10 years for each of his victims.
