FATAL ATTRACTION: Woman Murdered After Repeatedly Rejecting Coworker’s Advances And Texting Him Not To Touch Her

A woman has been shot dead while getting out of her car at her place of work after repeatedly rejecting a co-worker’s advances and texting him not to touch her.

Michael Jordan Carpenter, 36, has been arrested for the murder of Nicole Michelle Hammond, 28, after he allegedly shot her in a car park at their workplace in St Cloud, a city in the US state of Minnesota on 24th October, at around 7am.

The St Cloud Police Department (SCPD) said in a statement that the night before her death, Nicole had texted her alleged killer that “she did not want to be touched or manipulated by him”.

Nicole had “repeatedly” rejected Carpenter’s advances over the last month of her life, still according to the police.

She was found shot in a pool of blood in the car park in the 400 Block of Lincoln Avenue Northeast in St Cloud.

The police said in their statement that they responded to a report of a shooting in the car park, adding: “Upon arrival officers located the body of a 28-year-old female from St Cloud laying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound.

“Officers attempted life-saving measures however the victim died at the scene. It appeared that the shooter had left the area prior to the arrival of police.”

The SCPD said that they quickly identified the suspect and arrested him. They added: “Through the course of the investigation officers were able to identify a suspect who was known to the victim. The suspect was located at a residence in Sauk Rapids at approximately 9:50am at which time he was taken into custody without incident and brought to the St Cloud Police Department for questioning.”

The police also said that they found a handgun at Carpenter’s home and that he has been charged. They added: “A handgun was recovered as a result of the arrest. Based on the investigation the suspect, 36-year-old Michael Jordan Carpenter of St Cloud, was eventually transported to the Benton County Jail where he was held on charges related to homicide.”

The police added that Nicole’s body was sent for autopsy and that the investigation is ongoing.

Carpenter has been charged with second-degree murder, according to local media.

Nicole’s funeral is set to take place on Friday, 4th November.
