This fashion designer has been found dead in her bedroom with a plastic bag over her head and her hands tied.
Thalissa Nunes Dourado, 27, was found dead at her home in the town of Paraty on the Costa Verde (Green Coast) in Brazil’s state of Rio de Janeiro on 5th November, with local media reports emerging from Friday 12th November.
The local police chief, Marcelo Haddad, said that the suspects had already been identified, according to local media outlet Metropoles.
It is currently understood that the fashion designer was asphyxiated with her hands tied behind her back, but her body has been sent for an autopsy to confirm this. Preliminary results indicate that she was murdered.
Her lifeless body was found by a female friend, who has not been named, but who reportedly lived with her.
The police managed to identify the suspects – the last people to have contact with her – after reviewing footage from CCTV cameras in the area, which had been seized for analysis.
They also took statements from the young fashion designer’s friends and relatives.
Haddad is quoted as saying: “The images point to important and decisive elements for the investigation. The testimonies also corroborate our thesis, as we listened to the various people who were with her in her last moments, in the early hours.”
He also said: “The investigations are already at an advanced stage, but the investigation is confidential so as not to disturb the progress of the case. We already have suspects of the crime, but we are waiting for the forensic reports from the crime scene and the autopsy to conclude.”
The investigation is ongoing.
