The daughter of a famous Russian singer was exposed to violence in the live broadcast of a TV show, in which she announced that she was sexually abused by her step-brother.
Maria Zakharova, 21, the daughter of the famous Russian pop singer Masha Rasputina, 57, accused her step-brother, Roman Zakharov, 42, of sexually abusing her from an early age in a live TV show named ‘Live’, which took place in mid-October.
“My brother offered me to sleep with him. When I was 17, he molested me. I was a virgin, and he wanted to become my first man. He even told his mother: ‘I’ll dose Maria with drugs and fuck her hard'” the news site Life reported on 10th November.
Roman Zakharov, the son of Masha Rasputina’s current husband, Viktor Zakharov, from a previous marriage, who heard this on the live broadcast and was in the studio at the time, attacked Maria in anger.
According to the news website Vokrug, during the physical violence that was broadcast live, Roman first punched his half-sister Maria and knocked her to the ground, then dragged her by the hair and beat her on the floor in front of the audience.
Maria attended the episode of ‘Live’ from her home via video conference and showed the bruises on her body on 8th November.
“It hurts a lot. I can’t sit, it’s very hard for me to sleep, everything hurts,” said the singer’s daughter, who admitted that she had already filed a complaint with the police.
Her lawyer, Alexander Usachev, added that Maria could have received hidden injuries to internal organs, but the severity of these injuries will be established later.
He said: “We will also complain to the prosecutor’s office and the Investigative Committee. It is not only about the violence that Roman inflicted on her, but also about more serious bodily harm. An examination will be carried out, so it is too early to say under what article the criminal case will be.”
The news site Life reported that after the TV show went on air, the audience was divided into two. Some accused Maria of defaming the family, while others stood up for her.
Roman’s father, businessman Viktor Zakharov, who is reportedly in intensive care due to being infected with COVID-19, also stood up for his stepdaughter Maria.
He said: “My son is a parasite, a drug addict and a criminal. He sleeps and dreams how soon I would die so that he would get all the inheritance.”
It is unclear if the police initiated an investigation into the incident.
