A young family had the shock of their lives when they woke up to find a strange man curled up fast asleep on their living room rug in his boxer shorts.

The incident took place in the city of Kyoto in the southern Japanese prefecture of the same name, and the photo was shared on Twitter by ‘Wakya FD3S’.

In the image, the man is seen asleep in the fetal position on the living room rug. He has his head on a banana-shaped pillow and is wearing a T-shirt and boxer shorts.

According to reports, ‘Wakya’ immediately called the cops who arrived at the house and secured the area.

Meanwhile, the whole time the man was curled up on the floor still asleep.

Curiously, the police found no signs of a break-in and stated that the doors and windows were all shut.

‘Wakya’ also said that he checked the house and could not find an explanation for how the intruder entered the home.

He believes that the man was probably already inside the property when his family went to bed.

He said on social media: “When locking up for the night, make sure to check inside your house, and also to look into the rooms you don’t use very often.”

Meanwhile, the intruder was taken into custody and ‘Wakya’ still does not know how he ended up asleep on his floor.

The police investigation is ongoing.
