Three people have been arrested after a fart in a changing room at an Andorran spa centre sparked a mass brawl between 12 members of two families.

The incident took place at Caldea Spa in Les Escaldes in the Andorran parish of Escaldes-Engordany on the evening of 11th October.

According to the news site Altaveu, 12 members of two families, all visiting Andorra as tourists, were enjoying a day at the local sports centre, taking advantage of its thermal pools and range of services.

After whiling away a pleasant few hours at the centre, group members were in the changing room when a man, name not disclosed, sidled up to another and, without word, allegedly ‘let rip’ next to him.

The man was angered by the flatulence and reportedly started shouting at the offending man, prompting a scuffle that quickly exploded into a mass brawl between 12 people, according to Altaveu.

Security staff at the spa tried to intervene, but were unable to stop the family members from attacking each other.

As a result, they had to call the police and four patrolling officers arrived at the scene and halted the brawl.

According to reports, the police arrested the two men who started the fight as well as a woman who insulted officers upon their arrival.

Altaveu said the three detainees were released the next day and are not expected to face further punishment.
