Fury over the freeing of a man who filmed his girlfriend clinging to a penthouse balcony before she fell to her death has forced the case to be reopened.

Celebrity dog trainer Burak Ercan walked free after he told a court in Istanbul he had wanted to record evidence that he had not pushed her off the edge.
Moments after the filming Ukrainian model Anzelika Srabiants, 33, plunged nearly 100ft to the ground on 10th June, 2021.
Prosecutors had demanded aggravated life imprisonment for Ercan on charges of aggravated murder and deprivation of liberty.
But the court decided that there was lack of evidence and freed him.
The decision caused widespread outrage, and a formal complaint was filed by the family of the model.
Now Appeal Court judges have been ordered to re-open the case.

Ercan had claimed that after going out for lunch, the couple had argued on the way home, and the argument continued inside the apartment.
He said that while he was in the bathroom the model went onto the balcony and climbed onto the railings.
But instead of pulling her back, he pulled out his mobile phone and started filming.

Now the Turkish Ministry of Family and Social Services has sent the case to the Appeal Court for further review.
