This viral video seen 10 million times online shows an overly excited university graduate lifting up his school chancellor on stage and throwing him backwards like a wrestler.

Graduate Liu Tianqi was trying to give the Jilin Animation Institute administrator Zheng Liguo a big hug when the embarrassing moment took place.

Video taken on 20th June shows Liu and his classmates in academic dress while greeting the chancellor, aged 54, on stage during the 2019 graduation ceremony in Changchun, capital city of north-eastern China’s Jilin Province.

After Liu bows in respect, he suddenly grabs the school official with both arms and lifts him up.

But in his excitement Liu loses his footing and ends up falling backwards, throwing himself and Zheng onto the stage as students in the audience shout and gasp in shock.

Fortunately, both of them manage to stand up fairly quickly as others rush over to help, leaving witnesses laughing at the sight.

Liu said: “I was too excited. I wanted to hug him and spin him around, but I messed it up,

“Luckily nobody got hurt, and he told me he was fine.”

Liu and others at the university have described the chancellor as being “very friendly”.

At last year’s graduation ceremony, Zheng was pictured receiving a big kiss on his cheeky from another male student on stage.
