Former Napoli midfielder Blerim Dzemaili’s ex-wife Erjona Sulejmani, 32, made the comments during an interview with television programme ‘Rivelo’ broadcast by Italian channel ‘Real Time’.

During the interview, the beautiful Albanian model said: “I do not see why this taboo of homosexuality is such a difficult subject today.

“I mean in football and in general. I mean, what is the difference if you play football with someone who has a wife, a girlfriend or a boyfriend?

“There are many cases in football.”

The stunning brunette went on to talk about her single life after Swiss international Dzemaili, 33, reportedly filed for divorce in 2017 after she said “footballers are not great lovers. They prefer to do it themselves” when asked about sex before a match.

Sulejmani said: “Today, as a free and happily single woman, I realise how hard a WAG life is. You leave your life aside to follow another’s. You continuously change city or country. You cannot have a permanent job in a place.

“He (Dzemaili) is the father of my son. I will always respect him. I hope he achieves everything wants. But I don’t love him anymore.”

As of 2012, there are no openly gay male footballers in the top four divisions of English football which is not the case in women’s football as a number of players are openly gay.

The gorgeous model was voted as the supporter of the year by Italian GQ magazine after gaining attention at the 2016 Euros while supporting her then-husband Dzemaili.

Dzemaili was bought by Shenzhen FC this year who play in the Chinese second-tier.
