A former police officer allegedly chopped off his mum’s head, left it in a bucket, cooked himself dinner and handed himself in at the police station claiming that aliens had told him to carry out the gruesome crime.

Martin Gutierrez, 41, handed himself in to the police after allegedly beheading his mum, Martha Susana Gutierrez, 73, in La Plata, the capital of the Buenos Aires Province in Argentina, on Sunday 21st November.

After Gutierrez told the cops what he had done, they dispatched a unit to Martha’s house in the Monasterio neighbourhood of La Plata.

The police walked into the house and found Martha’s decapitated body wrapped up in a blanket while her head had been dumped in the bucket.

The walls were covered in blood and the cops found a long gas tube and a 16-centimetre (6.3-inch) knife that they believe Gutierrez used to kill and decapitate his mum, reports Infobae.

The police then checked the suspect’s room and found that the walls were covered in disturbing messages about aliens.

The cops later questioned Gutierrez and he told them that after carrying out the crime as ordered by the aliens he had then showered, made himself some dinner and then walked to the police station.

Gutierrez was discharged from the police in 2018 for conduct issues which he developed as a result of a reported bipolar disorder.

An investigation has been launched and the case is being treated as a homicide.
