A father suspected of raping his two daughters aged six and eight has been arrested after the girls drew these pictures depicting the horrific abuse they suffered.

The dad, who has not been named but who is reportedly 28 years old, was taken into custody in the city of Canoas in the southern Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 23rd February.

The local Police Department for the Protection of Children and Adolescents said that the children, who have not been named, asked for help through their drawings, which have been released by the police.

The police said in a statement obtained by Newsflash that the girls “were being abused and constantly threatened by their own father, who told the girls that if they spoke about the abuse, he would continue to hurt them”.

They added: “On one occasion, the suspect even throttled his youngest daughter and threatened to kill her, adding that he could have continued if he had wanted to.

“The victims’ maternal grandmother gave her granddaughters a notebook and began to notice drawings with a precociously sexual nature.

“Talking to the girls’ mother, they noticed that the behaviour of both had changed, being aggressive, irritable and very tearful.”

The police also said: “The six-year-old victim confided that in one of the episodes of abuse, she heard her older sister crying and asking the suspect to stop it, begging, but even so, the father continued with the cruel acts against her sister.

“She also said that she realised that the suspect was very disgusted by urine and that, for that very reason, when she realised that she was going to be alone with her father at home, she would urinate on purpose in order to avoid sexual attacks, so that her father would not hurt her.”

It is currently unclear if the suspect had been formally charged at the time of writing.
