Evid Dad Jailed For Forcing Son, 7, To Have Sex With Prostitutes To Prevent Him From Turning Gay

A Maltese man has been sent to jail for beating his own son, 7, and forcing him to have sex with prostitutes to prevent him from turning gay like other family members.

The Court of Criminal Appeal in Malta confirmed a prison sentence of eight years for the unnamed man, who had appealed his earlier guilty verdict.

The Magistrates’ Court had convicted the 65-year-old defendant of defilement and assault in February.

Two prostitutes offered money by the man to have sex with his son reported the case to the child protective services in 2016, and social workers subsequently took the boy into care.

The boy told them how his dad said he would lock him in a cage if he spoke out about the violence he subjected him to, which included beatings with an electric wire and a broomstick.

The court believed the man hired prostitutes to have sex with his son because he was worried he would turn out to be gay like other family members.

According to judge Consuelo Scerri Herrera, the man “had exposed his son to a life of sex, beatings, pornography, prostitution and drugs”.

The boy was psychologically traumatised and displayed “over-sexualised behaviour” from the sexual violence he was subjected to, and was prescribed therapy.

In addition to his eight-year prison term, a three-year restraining order was taken out against the man, preventing him from contacting his son or the two prostitutes who reported him.

The names of those involved were withheld to protect the minor’s identity.
