European Coronavirus Conspiracy Theorists Locked Up

A German lawyer who tried to go to the constitutional court to overturn the government’s anti-coronavirus measures has been committed to a psychiatric ward.

And across the border in Switzerland, 58-year-old Dr Thomas Binder, who claimed that the arrival of the coronavirus was directly connected to the use of 5G technology, was also arrested and locked up in a psychiatric ward.

In the case of the German lawyer, police confirmed they had arrested lawyer Beate Bahner, 53, who is a specialist in medical legislation, and had taken her to the psychiatric hospital.

Asked for the reason a police spokesman said that she had been giving “a very confused impression”.

Bahner was the head of a rapidly growing number of people who reject the threat posed by the coronavirus and on 3rd April revealed that she had prepared a legal case against the restrictions in the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg which she described as “blatantly unconstitutional” and added that they violated the fundamental rights of citizens on an “unprecedented level”.

She then filed the complaint at both the Baden-Wuerttemberg Administrative Court and the Federal Constitutional Court complaining that never before in history had “an entire population been effectively stripped of their rights and locked away.”

She also called for countrywide demonstrations and added that Germans had the “right of opposition” which also resulted in prosecutors investigating her for inciting public unrest.

The legal cases that she filed were rejected but she continued to call for changes including the reopening of everything from theatres, cinemas, saunas and churches through to brothels saying that access was guaranteed under article 1 of the basic law (human dignity).

Ironically, the last post that she made was when she feared arrest by police saying: “It’s another shock when you suddenly realise that the loudest police helicopter ever is after you. I think it will take a while before I am no longer afraid of helicopter noises.”

A short while later the police arrived and took her away against her will to the psychiatric hospital.

In the case against the Swiss doctor, a spokesman for the Swiss prosecutors Alex Dutler confirmed that he had been arrested saying it was “based on various messages from the suspect on social media” and he added it “had to be assumed that he could pose a threat to himself or to third parties”.

They also said they were worried that he might have a gun, and then confirmed the weapon was found at his home when he was arrested, which the doctor said was simply his army issue service revolver for which he had no ammunition.

Prosecutors said that an examination after his arrest ruled he was not responsible for his actions and he was transferred to a psychiatric clinic.

On his Twitter account he was a frequent critic of the coronavirus pandemic strategy of the authorities, and said there was a direct correlation between the virus and 5G. He wrote: “The so-called Sars-Cov-2 pandemic is in reality a 5G pandemic.”

Two days ago, he wrote how he feared that the devil would claim the lives of millions of people in a 5G feast on the feast of the Resurrection of the son of God.

One of his regular online followers, Andreas Kyriacou, said: “Over the years I have noticed that Binder is getting more and more involved in conspiracy theories.”

This included a claim that the attack on the editorial staff of Charlie Hebdo had been covered up to blame it on ISIS, suggesting that the picture from the Syrian war had been faked.

A politician from Aargau, who spoke to local media and asked not to be named, said that Binder has delved into conspiracy theories in recent years. He said: “I had closer contact with B. until 2013 or 2014.”

But then Dr Binder got so involved in conspiracy theories about 9/11 that he distanced himself from him and blocked him on Facebook.

Prosecution spokesman Dutler was keen to point out that the arrest was not triggered by the suspect’s corona-critical tweets.
