This is the moment a member of El Chapo’s cartel poses while firing a machine gun – which appears to be an AK47 – in footage reportedly intended as a threat to their bloodthirsty rivals the CJNG.

The footage was posted to social media and local media report it shows member of the Sinaloa Cartel, previously led by Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, and the show of strength was a threat to their rival gang the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), according to local media.

The footage shows an alleged member of the cartel firing an assault rifle into the countryside. In another video, dozens of men carrying guns can be seen standing in front of a fleet of cars.

According to local media, the video was addressed to the members of the CJNG, as its leader, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes is known as “El Mencho”, has tried to take over some areas currently under the control of the Sinaloa Cartel, so the clip would be a warning.

The Sinaloa Cartel, currently led by Ismael “El Mayo” Zambada, operates primarily in the state of Sinaloa, although its operations are located in more than half of the states in Mexico and almost across the United States border.

They compete with the Jalisco New Generation Cartel in the trafficking of drugs both nationally and internationally.
