This is the moment El Chapo’s daughter and pals don COVID-19 facemasks featuring her dad’s famous mug as they pack aid boxes – on which his face also features – for Mexico’s poor.

Alejandrina Guzman, 38, daughter of the former leader of the Sinaloa cartel Joaquin ‘El Chapo’ Guzman, was recorded in a live social media video preparing boxes of what have called ‘Chapo Provisions’ to be shared in the city of Guadalajara, in the western Mexican state of Jalisco.

In the video, she can be seen wearing a face mask as she prepares boxes with toilet paper, food and other provisions alongside other women.

The women can be seen wearing COVID-19 face masks with El-Chapo’s face on it as they pack boxes also featuring the drug lord’s famous mug.

The two women sanitise their hands as a man’s voice can be heard saying they are preparing ‘Chapo dispensas’ (Chapo provisions).

El Chapo’s daughter then explains that the boxes will go to those most in need during the coronavirus crisis, especially to the elderly.

The boxes contain toilet paper, soup, biscuits, oil, sugar, rice and beans, among other items.

Those who would like a box of provisions are told they can send a private message on social media to register their interest.

Local media report Mexican criminal groups like the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, Los Viagras and the Golfo Cartel have made similar donations in the COVID-19 crisis.

Alejandrina Guzman made the headlines earlier this year for her luxurious wedding to Edgar Cazares.

According to the latest figures from the Johns Hopkins University, Mexico has registered 5,847 cases of COVID-19, and 449 deaths.
