This is the moment bungling, baby-faced car thieves crash their stolen vehicle into a parked car, completely crushing it against a truck.
Bafflingly, one of the crooks then ran back to the mangled vehicle moments later, apparently to pick up a mobile phone and a bag he had left behind.
CCTV cameras caught the smash as it happened on a street in Sao Paulo, south-eastern Brazil, on Christmas Day.
The footage shows how the speeding crooks hurtle into the back of a parked car, shunting it into the back of a lorry.
The car in the middle of the pile-up is completely crushed in the collision, while the stolen vehicle’s bonnet is left badly mangled.
The baby-faced crooks can then be seen getting out of the smoking wreck and legging it after one puts on his flip-flops.
Incredibly, one of the car thieves runs back to the crime scene moments later in full view of several onlookers to grab a mobile phone and a bag he had left behind.
The truck owner later told local media his damaged vehicle was not insured and that he needs it for work.
Police in Sao Paulo’s Jabaquara neighbourhood have registered the case as ‘theft’ and ‘collision’ and are working to identify the suspects.
