This is the moment an unresponsive school teacher is found sleeping next to a bottle of booze as staff members and young kids pose for snaps around him.

The incident was filmed at Kakadotha Government School in the district of Chamba in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh and widely circulated on social media.

In the footage, the teacher is seen lying asleep on the ground next to a bottle of alcohol before colleagues move him to a nearby bench.

While seated, the passed-out teacher is heard snoring as schoolchildren are asked to pose next to him for the video.

According to local media, the teacher arrived at school drunk and then passed out before getting to the classroom.

Some stunned children went home to tell their parents, who came to the school to film the allegedly drunk teacher.

The video was sent to child welfare official Kapil Sharma who has complained to the senior district officials including the deputy commissioner, according to local media.

An education department team visited the school to take statements from other staff members, children and parents.

Meanwhile, the unnamed teacher has also been quizzed and admitted to his mistake, according to local media.

Meanwhile, Deputy District Education Officer Heendra Kumar, who is leading the investigation, told local media: “A report will be sent to senior officials who will take necessary action against the accused.”

The probe is ongoing.
