This is the moment a seemingly drunk mother lies on the ground in a park and struggles to get to her feet as her three-year-old son watches on and shrugs at the camera as she stumbles.

The bizarre incident took place on the streets of the city of Vladimir in western Russia’s Vladimir Oblast region and was recorded on a smartphone camera by an onlooker.

In the video, the mother, who has been named as Anna in reports, can be seen lying on the ground in front of her three-year-old son, no name reported.

The mother slowly tries to get to her feet as her son flaps his arms at the camera. She pushes herself off the ground and manages to get to her feet before stumbling towards a tree trunk.

She then leans on the tree as the son watches. Initial reports suggested the woman had been in the seemingly drunk condition for two days but that was later denied by child protection services.

Despite some local residents claiming that they had seen the woman drunk the day before, representatives from the local child protection watchdog have confirmed that it is the first time the woman has been caught in such a condition.

An anonymous representative said: “The child is feeling alright. The situation was caught in time by the authorities, and it happened by accident. There is no threat to the boy, there was no threat to him even at that point.”

Even though the case was reported to local police, the boy is reported to be in no danger.

Local media report the woman will be called for a talk with authorities to clarify the incident.
