This footage shows a drunk taxi passenger repeatedly jumping on the roof of a cabbie’s car before he walks down and face-plants on the road.

The bizarre scenes happened on the streets of Xinmi City in Central China’s Henan Province during a trip in the early hours of the morning.

According to reports, the cabbie picked up the drunk passenger who later began acting unusually, shouting at and cursing the driver.

After the vehicle was stopped, the man allegedly broke the taxi’s front windscreen before climbing onto the roof of the green car.

The taxi driver filmed the scenes as evidence and did not engage with the patron, who is seen jumping up and down on the roof, causing a large dent in the metal.

As the video continues, the drunk man tries to walk back down but trips and face-plants the road instead.

Embarrassed, he stands back up and confronts the cabbie with incoherent slurs.

Reports said the taxi driver had already called the police at that point, and officers are seen arresting the drunk shortly after.

The authorities were shown the video as evidence, but the cabbie’s statement was also backed up by witnesses who watched the unusual incident unfold from a distance, reports added.

The drunk passenger was taken into custody but is not expected to face any heavy punishment for the public order offence.

However, reports said he is expected to compensate the cabbie for damage caused.
