Austrian police have broken up a house party with six drunk Brits and arrested two of them for assaulting cops.

Officers arrived at the flat where they found the six Brits who appeared to be intoxicated and failing to follow COVID-19 health protocol.

Investigators said: “There were at least six obviously intoxicated British nationals in the flat between the ages of 24 and 41, none of whom wore an FFP2 mask.”

It is unclear if there were more people who attended the party.

The situation escalated when four of the people at the party attacked police which led to the arrest of two of them.

A spokesperson from the police said: “The officers were attacked with blows, which is why a 41-year-old and a 24-year-old had to be temporarily arrested.”

It is unclear if they have been released.

The other two British nationals tried to escape the flat through a balcony, apparently hoping to avoid any sanctions.

The case will be investigated by the District Administration Kufstein for the alleged violations of the Covid Measures Protocol.

The two detained suspects face charged for resistance against state authorities filed by the Innsbruck Public Prosecutor’s Office.
