According to the Mossos D’Esquadra (Catalan police), the drone was flown over the damaged plant by cops on 15th January at around 1pm, the day after the blast.

Around 20 emergency vehicles were sent to the site to battle the blaze through the night, gradually bringing it under control.

Reports said that firefighters had to organise a controlled explosion in the silo to prevent another possible blast.

The drone footage shows firefighters directing jets of water at the blazing silo, reportedly caused by the controlled explosion.

According to reports, the accidental blast at the chemical plant, which is still under investigation, killed two workers and a civilian called Sergio who was in his flat three kilometres (1.9 miles) away at the time.

Local media said that a one-tonne metal plate struck a building, causing part of the structure to collapse.

Meanwhile, eight people were injured and are currently receiving hospital treatment.

Reports said that three of them are in a critical condition.

A team of 40 firefighters is continuing to extinguish the fire, which is now said to be under control.

However, the local authorities are reportedly concerned that a section of the damaged plant might collapse.
