Driver Rams Two Men Off Motorbike After Petty Row In Off-Licence, Killing One

This is the shocking moment a car driver reportedly hits a motorbike on purpose and kills one of the two riders following a “petty row” in a local off-licence.

The incident took place in the area of Vila Planalto in the Brazilian capital Brasilia on 24th October, and the police released the footage this month to appeal to the public for more information.

Police chief Mauricio Iacozilli said the car driver and two men had become embroiled in a row in the off-licence when one of them cut the queue.

He said: “One of those involved jumped the queue and, as they were drunk, an argument began.”

The police chief said the suspect, named as Genival Ferreira da Silva Junior, 35, went home to get his car before returning to ram the two men off their bike in front of the store.

The police said the suspect hit the motorcycle on purpose after the “petty argument” before fleeing the scene.

The victims, a 31-year-old man, name not disclosed, was killed in the incident while his 26-year-old companion was injured.

Iacozilli said: “It ended in great tragedy, as one victim died and the other has aftereffects to this day.”

Da Silva Junior is reported to have since gone on the run and the police have not yet managed to track him down.

To help with the search, the Civil Police (Brazil’s investigative police force) have released images of the suspect as the investigation continues.

The suspect faces charges of aggravated murder and aggravated attempted murder and could face up to 50 years in prison if convicted.
