This is the bizarre moment a blundering driver in his vehicle follows two patients through the front door of a hospital before ploughing out of a wall on the other side.

Authorities in the county of Wuwei in East China’s Anhui Province later identified the motorist as a staff member surnamed Tang, who works in the county People’s Hospital.

Tang, who is in his 40s, can be seen attempting to park his white saloon car in front of the single-storey office moments after two female patients walk in the front door.

But the car suddenly charges forwards and ploughs through the door, crashing into the office and coming out the other side again.

An alternative camera angle shows the walls of the office being destroyed during the accident, which left the two patients injured and trapped under debris.

Hospital staff can be seen rushing over to help the victims, who police say remain in treatment at the facility.

Tang, who is said to be a seasoned driver, claims he had been trying to park on a slope and stepped on the accelerator when he noticed his car sliding backwards.

He has been cleared of drink-driving suspicion but police have yet to conclude their investigation into the incident.
