This is the moment a driver is flung out of his moving car after it goes into a spin and crashes into a palm tree on the central reservation of a dual carriageway.

The man, who was not thought to be wearing a seat belt, lost control of his car in wet conditions in the Manavgat district of southern Turkey’s Antalya Province.

CCTV footage shows the white car going into a spin and smashing into a palm tree in the central reservation before the driver suddenly flies from the vehicle.

The man, later named by police as Ahmet C., is left lying at the side of the road next to the central reservation and seems unable to get to his feet.

His car continues its spin and comes to a halt in the road, a few metres away from its driver, almost as if it had been parked by the roadside.

Other motorists, who witnessed the accident, are seen in the footage stopping their vehicles to come to Ahmet C.’s aid.

They alerted the emergency services and an ambulance soon arrived on the scene to take the injured man to a local hospital.

Ahmet C. was treated for his injuries by doctors who later allowed him to go home.

Residents told local media the stretch of road was an accident blackspot where they had long called for safety measures to slow down speeding cars which had made them fear for their children’s lives.
