This is the moment a lorry driver manages to climb to safety after crashing off a road and dangling his vehicle over the edge of a 50-foot vertical drop.

The unnamed heavy goods vehicle driver is said to have lost control of his lorry while coming around a bend at Chaya Township Logistics Park in the city of Wanyuan, which is in south-western China’s Sichuan Province, on 6th April.

He collided with the crash barrier and left the front wheels of his lorry dangling over the edge of the sheer drop, which would have seen the lorry plunge over 15 metres (50 feet) onto a private residence below, reports said.

In the video taken by witnesses, passers-by exclaim at the red lorry’s near miss as the cabin hangs over the dangerous drop.

Moments later, the driver is seen escaping by climbing the side of his lorry to reach the top.

According to reports, he was not harmed, and no other pedestrians or vehicles were involved in the incident.

The lorry was towed back onto the road by emergency services shortly after the crash.

The incident is still being investigated, and it was still unclear whether the lorry driver would be ordered to pay for the crash barrier repairs.
