This is the moment a woman in a red Toyota – who cops say was drink-driving – apparently tries to mow down pedestrians before turning her attentions to the police officers who have arrived to arrest her.

Video taken on the streets of Daya District in Taiwan’s western port city of Taichung shows the driver surnamed Huang refusing to leave her car and trying repeatedly to run the group over.

Authorities said police officers were called to a temple on Zhongqing Road on 21st July after Huang arrived to confront its owner about an ongoing drink-driving civil suit.

Huang had reportedly been charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after drunkenly crashing into the temple owner Chang’s car on 6th April.

Chang is said to have refused to settle the matter privately, leaving Huang with a months-long grudge to settle.

When she confronted him at his temple, Chang’s friends and family called the police, but officers are seen struggling to stop Huang.

The footage shows Huang’s red Toyota threatening to mow down pedestrians and nearby officers while doing several circles around a few parked cars, which she also damaged.

One of the temple-goers can be seen hurling a brick at Huang’s windscreen before officers finally force her from the driver’s seat.

Authorities confirmed her blood alcohol levels were well over the legal limit.

She was detained at the Taichung District Prosecutors Office as investigations continued.
