Drink Driver Killed After Smashing Through Tollbooth Causing His Car To Explode In Fireball

This is the moment a drink driver breaks the speed limit and smashes through a tollbooth, causing his car to explode in a fireball.

The incident took place at a tollbooth on a multi-lane highway close to the city of Shuozhou in the Chinese province of Shanxi on the night of Saturday, 4th September.

The driver of the white Haval passenger car, identified as 33-year-old Gao Moujun, was killed instantly in the accident.

No other fatalities were reported, though the tollbooth was partially damaged after the car smashed through it, catching fire in the process.

Photos taken in the aftermath of the accident shows how the passenger car was completely gutted by the fire.

The police are investigating the incident, and preliminary findings suggest the male driver was over the alcohol limit at the time of the accident.

According to the Global Road Safety Facility, road crash fatalities and serious injuries cost China 6.2 per cent of its GDP. Most road crash victims in the Asian nation are males aged 15 to 49.
