This is the moment a drunk and disqualified driver goes into a spin on an icy road, hitting traffic lights and a lamp post, before driving off as if nothing had happened.

The man, who had been given a driving ban for speeding only the previous day, was later arrested by cops and found to be over the alcohol limit for driving.

The crash was captured on CCTV cameras in the city of Olsztyn, the capital of north-eastern Poland’s Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship.

The footage shows the black Renault Modus go into a skid on the partially snow-covered dual carriageway. The car spins around at least three times on the slippery surface before coming to a halt as several pieces of bodywork fall onto the road.

The driver gets out the vehicle, as does his passenger, to pick up some of the debris then gets back behind the wheel and drives off.

Police later found the car abandoned at a bus stop and caught up with the driver and his passenger in a taxi they had flagged down to get home.

The driver, a 22-year-old man whose name has not been released, was found to be over the alcohol limit for driving. His 56-year-old passenger was carrying a small amount of cannabis.

The driver had been banned for three months, fined 400 PLN (84 GBP) and issued with 10 penalty points the previous day for speeding.

He now faces a possible jail sentence on new charges of drink driving, driving while disqualified and reckless driving. His passenger faces drug possession charges.
