This is the moment a BMW drink-driver crashes through the front of a building and nearly crushes a disabled man in a wheelchair.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the city of Kaliningrad in the region of Kaliningrad Oblast, a Russian exclave sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania, and the footage was shared on social media where it has been viewed 215,000 times.

In the video, the disabled man in a wheelchair is seen enjoying beers with two pals around a table.

While lost in conversation, a black car then crashes through the glass front of the building, pushing the group’s table backwards.

The disabled man is slammed against the bar by the table, but despite being wedged in, he appears to have narrowly missed being crushed.

According to local media, the BMW driver tried to flee the scene but was detained by police officers who were quickly on the scene.

The local police said the unnamed 32-year-old driver failed a subsequent breath test.

After reportedly being over the limit, causing an accident and then trying to flee the scene, the police have launched a full investigation into the incident.

It is unclear whether the alleged drink-driver is being held in custody as the probe continues.
